Gillis studied architecture in Ghent and further refined his craft at the University of Valencia.
Later he enriched his architectural perspective through work with architects Stéphane Boens and Dries Bonamie, an experience that shaped his vision of bespoke architecture.
He eventually settled in the picturesque region of Ghent, where the local architecture and traditional materials became a lasting source of inspiration.
